Record Sunday's cash and checks
The plate still matters, and those gifts belong in the same records as online giving: on donors' year-end statements and in your reports. A batch lets your count team enter Sunday's cash and checks, check the total against the drawer, and post it all in one go.

Good to know
- A gift shows up on a donor's year-end statement only when it's matched to them. A name that doesn't match anyone is kept as typed; add their email under Donor email (optional) to link it to a donor record.
- Spotted a mistake before committing? Use Edit or the trash icon on the gift's row. After committing, record the correction in a new adjusting batch.
- The Giving chat can help too: “Start a batch for Sunday's 9am service” or “Commit the Sunday batch”. The grid is faster for keying a whole plate.
- The Batches & deposits report in Giving → Reports shows what each committed batch counted beside what posted.
If it’s not working
The date I need isn't in the date picker
A batch's service date can be up to 180 days back or 30 days ahead. That keeps a mistyped year from filing a whole plate into the wrong period.
It says “Give the batch a name first”
The Name box is empty. Type a name, like “Sunday 9am”, and press Start batch again.
It says the batch was committed while I was entering a gift
Someone committed the batch from another tab or computer, so that last gift was not added. Committed batches are read-only: start a new batch for it and commit that one.
A committed batch says some gifts were never posted
The rows marked Not posted were counted but didn't reach your giving records. Enter those gifts in a new batch and commit it.
