Ask who has a birthday or who's missed church

Some questions come up every week: whose birthday is it, who's new, who haven't we seen in a month. Ask them in the chat the way you'd ask a good church secretary — the answer comes back as a list you can keep and reuse.

Before you start: Answers come from your directory: birthday questions need birthdates on file, and "who's missed church" needs check-ins recorded in Aligned.
Open People

Good to know

  • Name a month and you get that month: "who has birthdays in June?" or "show me June birthdays". "Birthdays in the next 30 days" works too.
  • You can ask about status ("our visitors"), contact info, birthdays and ages, how recently someone was added, check-ins, and group or team membership. Lists can't be built from giving — ask giving questions in Giving.
  • The Search… box on People only matches names and details — questions go in the chat.

If it’s not working

I typed my question into the search box and nothing came up

That box filters the rows in front of you by name, email and the like; it can't answer a question. Ask in the chat box at the bottom of the screen instead.

The "hasn't been in a while" list has people who come every week

It's worked out from check-ins recorded in Aligned, so anyone who never checks in counts as not having been. If your church doesn't check people in, attendance questions can't tell who's been.

Someone's missing from the birthday list

They don't have a birthdate on file. Add it in the Birthday column on People (or ask members to update their own info).
