Get your own text-to-give number
With your own number, people give by texting an amount, with no keyword to remember, and the same number lets you text your whole church. US carriers make every church register before it can send texts, so you fill in one form and Aligned files the registration for you.

Good to know
- One registration covers both jobs: the same number carries text-to-give and your congregation texting in Manage → Messages, so there's one number for people to learn.
- Already giving through a keyword on the shared number? It keeps working the whole time you wait, and you can keep running both afterwards.
- Card details are never typed into a text. Gifts by text are card gifts.
- Rather answer questions than fill in a form? Type “Set up texting” in the Manage chat and it walks you through the same registration.
If it’s not working
It says “A few things the filing can't go without are marked below.”
Look for the red note under each field. The usual ones are the EIN / tax ID (nine digits), a two-letter State, a five-digit ZIP, the Contact phone (a US number) and the two sample messages; that note sits under Sample message 2. Fix them and press Submit for registration again.
The registration is on hold or was sent back
The card on this page says exactly what's needed, and we email you the same thing. Press Edit & resubmit: the form refills with what you sent, so you only fix that one thing and type the EIN again.
It's been a while and the number still isn't live
The carriers' review is the slow part and runs in stages, and a slow review isn't a sign anything is missing. If you'd like to know where it stands, press Help at the bottom of the left rail; the support team can see which stage it's at.
Someone texted 50 and got no reply
To keep ordinary texts from turning into gifts, a plain amount only starts a gift for someone who has been sent your giving link before. Have them text GIVE 50 instead; that always works.
